COLUMBUS/CINCINNATI, May 15, 2020 – Chinese Americans from Ohio and over 100 cities in all 50 states launched the “Chinese American Food of Love Day” on May 10 to celebrate the Asian and Pacific American Heritage Month and provide free food to those in need that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ohio Chinese American Association (OCAA) partnered 14 other Asian American community organizations in spearheading the two weeks of food sharing and giving back to show support to fellow Americans, as part of the national effort coordinated by United Chinese Americans (UCA).

The COVID-19 outbreak has shaken our nation, sending millions into self-isolation and uncertainty, and many struggling for food and shelter. It is easy to feel worried during times like this, where our neighbors seem far away. The Chinese American Food of Love Day is a reminder that even during a pandemic, our community is strong, resilient and connected.
